War Memorial Hall offers Hokies an updated, accessible, and enhanced facility centered around wellness. The facility houses research space for the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise (HNFE), in addition to classroom space. War Memorial Hall is also the home of Recreational Sports. Hokies have access to exercise classes, as well as ten specialized spaces, including a boxing room, two rooms for dance organizations, a mind/body studio, yoga studio, spin studio, one squash court, and five racquetball courts.

The program trains individuals with hands-on experience in a wide variety of disciplines such as carpentry, masonry, painting, glasswork, electrical systems, roofing, and more. Apprentices serve as full-time facilities employees, responding to jobs across campus and, upon completion, gain highly valued industry skillsets and credentials that will serve them for life.
