Graduates honored at spring commencement in Northern Virginia

On behalf of the University community. Welcome to the spring 2024 graduate Commencement exercises in the DC area. We are so proud of you and look forward to celebrating all that you will do for the world in all whose lives you will make better by your impactful work. The entire Virginia Tech community take great pride in your accomplishments. Hokies the world awaits you, and I have no doubt that you're ready to take these challenges on with passion, with dedication, and with an unwavering commitment to building a better future for all. Go make a difference. I'm in awe of your strength and resilience. A graduate degree is both an incredible and impossible achievement that only a tiny fraction of individuals realize. Now, having had the chance to meet some of you all during my journey, I can truly say that you have been an inspiration to me and your achievement here today cannot be celebrated enough. Simple things done well all the time, truly hold the power to shape so many of our experiences. Whether your journey took one year or several, I hope all of you are as proud as I am to have finally reached the finish line. You get the opportunity to take this world class education that you receive from this land grant university and go out there and figure out a way to make this world better with it.
