Video duration: Class of 2027 White Coat Ceremony
Our first year students finally get their White Coats, after finishing block 1. Congrats Class of 2027!
Good evening everyone. Welcome to the white coat ceremony for the Virginia Tech Carolan School of Medicine class of 2027. The 24 women and 27 men who make up the Virginia Tech Corillian School of Medicine class of 27, and who will receive their white coats today represent 51 incredibly bright, accomplished, and motivated students out of a pool of nearly 6,200 applicants and 287 interviewees as a class, we believe that compassion is a force that can profoundly impact our relationships with our peers and our future patients. By conducting ourselves with sensitivity and care, we hope to foster an environment that is comforting to and supportive of our patients and their community members of the class of 2027. You are the new flock of White that has been tasked with the responsibility of serving your communities. Pass grace and humility. This can be accomplished by equipping your white coat pockets with the proper weights of discipline, desire and determination. Use these weights as a ballast to help you soar. I want you all to remember that you are a gift to the world. I want you to keep shining your light, The white coat that has been seeking you out to be a voice for the voiceless, I believe. And I know that you will wear the garment well. Now go forth and be beacons of hope, light, and love for your patients and for your profession. On behalf of all the physicians here today, it is with great pride and abundant expectations that I formally welcome the Virginia Tech grown School of Medicine class of 2027 to our profession.
