Highlights from Virginia Tech's inaugural Blocksburg Summit 2019: Blockchain and Beyond held at the Blacksburg campus Nov. 10-12, 2019.

The Summit brought together blockchain thought leaders from around the world to engage in conversations at the intersection of technology, research, regulation, policy, and economics in commercial enterprises, government, and education.

[00:00:02] >> So excited to see how many people have come here to Blocksburg. And are really interested in changing the world. What I want to talk about today is the bigger picture. Why are we doing Blockchain? Whether it's voting, or stocks or shareholders but we're doing all this because of. [00:00:26] A bigger movement, right. I didn't get into this to do Blockchain. I found Blockchain because I wanted to change the world, I want to make the world a better place. My hope is that what we as an organization are remembered for is having expanded the use case of Blockchain technology and been good custodians for its developments. [00:01:09] I believe that part of our job in addition to creating the technology itself is finding that healthy middle ground that meets the constraints of all parties involved.
