Video ItemVT Therapy Dogs | "These dogs are a miracle." , video
"The dogs make people smile. And when people are smiling and feel connected, good things happen." Trent Davis, Rami Steinruck, and Sarah Dunleavy serve at Virginia Tech's Cook Counseling Center as the Animal Assisted Therapy team - handling three service dogs named Derek, Josie, and Wagner. These dogs serve the Virginia Tech community in numerous ways with their handlers. They help to foster a more positive, inclusive space for students while at Virginia Tech, while helping to de-stigmatize difficult mental health conversations. They literally save lives. The sky is the limit for the positive impact these dogs will continue to have on the world! This video is a collaborative production project between the Student Affairs Communications team and the Cook Counseling Animal Assisted Therapy team.
