After a recent encounter with some ticks, the Turners brought Oreo in to the large animal section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital to make sure that their boy had no tick-borne illness scares. Oreo was cleared and is back to being his sassy diva self.

The New River Valley Kennel Club held the Festival of the Dog at the Blacksburg Municipal Park, allowing dog owners to bring their furry friends out to play games, safely socialize, and participate in AKC training. The event also allowed local business owners to sell their goods and interact with the community. The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine was there to promote the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the blood bank within the VTH, and interact with local dog owners.
