A letter from Mark Sikes, dean of students
Dear Hokies,
I am writing to express my heartfelt concern and support for those affected by the destructive earthquake in Taiwan. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to all those impacted by this natural disaster and its aftermath, including the families and friends of those who have lost their lives as well as those who have been injured or displaced from their homes.
If you or someone you know is struggling with the emotional effects of this event, Virginia Tech offers several options for care and support. The Dean of Students Office is prepared to assist, along with staff from Cook Counseling Center, Cranwell International Center, and Hokie Wellness.
During times of instability it is important we continue to come together as a community and create an environment of care and support for one another.
With hope,
S. Mark Sikes
Dean of Students
