About her: Yates has been an intern in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Pathways program the past three summers and has worked at National Wildlife Refuges in South Dakota, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Florida. She was a teaching assistant for a Freshman Honors Residential College seminar. She studied abroad in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, as a Presidential Global Scholar and studied abroad again in Antarctica.
Activities: Marching Virginians tuba player, Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society, CNRE Student Council department representative, Relay for Life, Hokies for the Hungry canned food drive, and a second language conversation partner
