About her: Helm conducts undergraduate research with Professor David Gerrard, working on projects involving meat science and muscle biology, and she was one of 16 students to receive a Fralin Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Helm also designs youth livestock programs for Virginia Cooperative Extension and 4-H.

Activities: Involved in several leadership roles for the Block and Bridle agriculture club and named the outstanding junior in spring 2015
