Lynsay Belshe, Vice President for Auxillary and Business Services, kicks off the 2023 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign. She shares the importance of the annual workplace giving campaign.

I'm so thrilled to serve as this year's Honorary Chair of the Commonwealth of Virginia campaign. Over the years, your contributions have improved the lives of many children, adults and veterans and strengthened our community. Your donation of just a few dollars per pay check can go a long way in helping meet the basic needs of those who need it most. Why should you donate to charities through the CVC? For me, it's knowing that the charities I care about are making a difference in the lives of our neighbors. I'm especially proud of the student-run Virginia Tech Rescue Squad, which diligently serves the university community 365 days a year, providing emergency medical services and emergency response on the Blacksburg Campus. This year, there are more than 750 charities to choose from. I know you can find a charity that's important to you. Our goal for this year's campaign is $400,000. I'm also delighted to announce a very special co-chair, Ringo, the police patrol pony. Ringo couldn't be with us today, but I know he's excited about the campaign and planning to make special appearances. The Hokie Nation is known for its caring and generosity. Let's continue that tradition and make this year's campaign a great success. Thank you for your support and go Hokies.
