Each fall, the Cadet Parade is part of the kickoff to the university’s Weeks of Welcome. New cadets demonstrate what they learned during New Cadet Week and training with a military parade. Major General Randal D. Fullhart, the commandant of cadets, oversees the parade along with President Tim Sands.
Bring your units to attention! We appreciate our distinguished guests and those joining us as part of the reviewing party. Your support of your classmates before you, and they of you, are what makes real, the university's motto, Ut Prosim. That I may serve. It is now my pleasure to welcome to the podium, the President of Virginia Tech, Timothy Sands. Seeing and hearing the corps back on campus and here on the drill field is one of my favorite parts of the new fall semester. Each year, you lead the way as we prepare to begin a new semester. Going all the way back to our founding in 1872; 150 years ago. New cadets welcome, have a great year and go Hokies!
