General ItemMandatory training for faculty leading student groups abroad
The Global Education Office recommends faculty get training dates on their calendars early. New Program Leader Training is offered once this semester and is mandatory for leaders of study abroad programs who have not taken this training before. Returning Program Leader Training is offered twice this semester for any faculty member who needs to renew their training in compliance with Policy 1070.

General ItemPanopto selected as new video content management system
Panopto will be available in early 2026 for use in training and to facilitate the transition from Kaltura. All video content stored in Kaltura will be migrated to Panopto, and videos embedded in Canvas course sites will be relinked. Kaltura will remain available through the end of the spring semester 2026.

Observed nationwide each November, International Education Week (IEW) celebrates universities’ strong intercultural communities, global connections, and international engagement. Colleges, departments, student organizations, and local community organizations are invited to submit events for inclusion in Virginia Tech’s International Education Week calendar. The deadline to submit events has been extended to Friday, October 3.
