Xerox vice president Tracy Mendez Eagar to give Wells Fargo Lecture
Tracy Mendez Eagar, vice president for the manufacturing sector at Xerox, will give the Wells Fargo Distinguished Lecture, sponsored by the Pamplin College of Business and Wells Fargo on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 3:30 p.m. at Alumni Assembly Hall in the Holtzman Alumni Center.
Mendez, who received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Virginia Tech in 1981, will speak on her path to professional success. She will share the lessons she has learned in her career at Xerox and offer career advice to students.
At Xerox, Mendez leads and supports the client managing directors for the aerospace and automotive segments and select accounts in the consumer packaged goods and pharmaceutical markets.
She previously served in two other vice president roles, for global pursuit and bid management and for developing markets operations.
Joining Xerox as a representative in the information systems division in Richmond, Va., Mendez progressed to district marketing manager and district operations manager for south Florida and account general manager for North Carolina and South Carolina.
She was principal of strategy and business development for a venture that focused on developing new revenue opportunities by identifying and assessing emerging technologies from Palo Alto Research Center, a Xerox subsidiary.
Her community service includes serving on boards and advisory groups in North Carolina and Florida related to business, technology, minority suppliers, and Hispanic community affairs.
The Wells Fargo Distinguished Lecture series in Pamplin has featured a variety of business professionals, including senior executives from GE, Nielsen, IBM, Ralph Lauren, KPMG, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
