A grand unveiling

S. I have been waiting nearly five years to say these words. We are open. Innovation is alive and well, not just in Virginia, not just in the Mid Atlantic, but across the United States, and it's happening right here at the innovation campus at Virginia Tech. This building will bring together ideas, talent, and resources from the leading minds in industry, government, and academia to truly make the space the center of next. Being a student in this new and unbelievable facility here in Alexandria, being part of this hub of collaboration and creativity, where students and faculty come together to push the boundaries of what's possible in technology. The new Virginia Tech Innovation Campus is built on this belief. It promises to be a hotbed of project based learning across disciplines, a place where students learn to harness the power of caring to accomplish extraordinary things. And as we celebrate today, we are not merely opening a building. We are opening doors to endless possibilities. The innovation campus serves as a beacon of talent, a hub for groundbreaking research, and a catalyst for economic prosperity in Alexandria and beyond. You know that every inch of the building is designed in a way to encourage creativity, risk taking, and collaboration. And the research that is created here will spill out into our neighborhoods, in our city, across the region, and throughout the world. In a place with an incredible concentration of talent, opportunities and potential partners, Academic Building one is a welcoming front door to Virginia Tech. Our goal is for every student, employee, partner, and alum, regardless of their location, to feel like they are part of a dynamic global network with the resources, spirit, and character of one university, one Virginia Tech. This is considerably more than just the opening of a beautiful, iconic building on the Alexandria landscape. This is just the beginning. Let's go.
