Virginia Tech students in James Wilson's Bees and Beekeeping course in the Department of Entomology are introduced to the care and management of honeybees. Students learn bee biology, the social organization of the honeybee colony, and colony management practices. Hands-on learning is key to bee management and helps students overcome fear of bees through proper safety gear and practices.
