Jennifer Cyrnak ('93, '96) came to Virginia Tech undecided and ultimately chose Geophysics as her science.
[00:00:00] >> My name is Jennifer Cyrnak I graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in geophysics and then the Master's Degree in geophysics a few years later in '96 and I came to Virginia Tech undecided, as many high school students do, and by the time I was in my sophomore year I was strongly encouraged by the university to pick a major so I picked up the course catalog and started flipping through all the things that I found that were interesting. [00:00:23] And I had always loved being outside and looking at road cuts and I came across geology and I thought "well that's pretty close" and I flipped to the next page which was geophysics which is geology with a concentration in math and I thought " yes that's me" so I picked it out of the course catalog and I'm very happy I had a 20 year career in Chevron and have always loved the sciences.
