David “Ryan” King, a student in the Virginia Tech Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health (TBMH) graduate program at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, has won a National Institutes of Health (NIH) individual research fellowship to support the last two years of his doctoral research. King’s work examines how sodium concentrations in intravenous saline fluids influence cardiac function following injury.
