Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Day–April 11

TLOS Accessible Technologies, Undergraduate Education, and Services for Students with Disabilities invite faculty members, administrators, staff, and graduate teaching assistants to participate in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Day on April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at North End Center. This year’s theme is “Empowering Educators: Practical Strategies for ADA Compliance and UDL Implementation.” The event schedule features keynote speaker Luis Perez, Ph.D., CPWA, director of disability & accessibility for CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology).
This in-person and hands-on workshop aims to equip participants with
- the technologies, strategies, and resources available at Virginia Tech.
- methods to align teaching practices with digital accessibility requirements and UDL principles.
- tactics to proactively support all learners and individualized accommodation needs.
- best practices to reduce educational barriers and make course materials accessible.
Seating is limited to 70 participants. All attendees will receive a digital badge and faculty will earn eight computer refresh credits with full participation. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
