Sean Tristan Garrick passed away peacefully on the morning of Oct. 30, surrounded by family at home.

Garrick had just embarked on his journey at Virginia Tech in the fall of 2023 and was a student in the College of Engineering. He lived in West Ambler Johnston Hall. Outside of the classroom, Garrick was happiest gaming online with friends, weightlifting, rock climbing, and indulging in his love of food — especially sushi and sweet potato biscuits. He deeply loved his family and his dog, Autumn.

The family grateful for the outpouring of support and would ask for those who are able, to please consider donating blood. Garrick received countless transfusions during his treatment at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Alternatively, donations can be made in his name to the Children’s Inn at NIH, a place that provided him comfort during his care.
