Degree: DVM Class of 2024, Mixed Animal
Hometown: Grundy, Virginia

My undergraduate was in…

Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech

Best part of being a VMCVM student…

Getting to learn from my colleagues and hear their experiences, which led them to where they are today.

The moment I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian/public health professional was…

When I realized in undergrad my path in engineering wasn't filling my cup but volunteering with animals was.

My hidden talent...

Robotics and baking!

A person who has inspired me...

To pick one is impossible. So many strong-willed and brilliant individuals in my life have instilled their wisdom and life lessons in me. Family, colleagues, and amazing friends all inspire me to be the best version of myself I can be.

Biggest misconception about being a veterinarian/public health student…

That our studies only entail pathogenesis and treatment of disease. The preventive health aspect and scope of many of the classes is much greater than many realize.

If I had a superpower it would be...

To control time. I cannot tell you how frequently I wish for this ability.

My no-fail, go-for-it motivational song...

Can't Stop - Red hot Chili Peppers

What excites me the most about the future of my industry...

The move towards cooperative care!

Favorite way to end the day...

Sitting in my hammock watching the sun set and listening to my surroundings whilst sipping a good cup of coffee.

Top of my bucket list...

To get back into travel and backpacking!

How many pets do you have? Types?

2 cats! Calypso a beautiful medium hair calico minus a tail and Waffles a derpy orange flat faced Persian cat!
