Ashley Ege has been named chief advancement officer for Student Affairs and officially stepped into her new role on Aug. 14.

As the division's chief advancement officer, Ege will serve as the chief fundraiser for Student Affairs and will lead the Student Affairs advancement team, whose mission is to inform, engage, and ask alumni and families to support the valuable programs and resources offered by Student Affairs.

Throughout her fundraising career, Ege has achieved exponential growth year over year and believes the key to her success lies in relationship building. She has helped transform communities across Virginia, provided local nonprofits with fundraising training, and helped to scale a nationwide development program.

Most recently, Ege served as the national director of donor success for Stop Soldier Suicide, developing donor engagement plans, working with corporate accounts, and raising critical funds for veterans and service members. Prior to that, she served in development for the American Heart Association and locally at the Community Foundation of the New River Valley.

Ege earned a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from Radford University.
