Dear Virginia Tech community,

The Title IX annual report for the 2020-21 academic year is available. The report aims to share information with the community about sexual harassment and violence at Virginia Tech in a way that is helpful and transparent. In it, you will find aggregate data about the kinds of incidents that were reported to university officials, how the university responded to those reports, and the services provided to students at Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech remains committed to ensuring that the university is a safe and inclusive environment and is working toward a campus free from gender-based violence. This report reflects the commitment and dedication of partners across the university to this important effort. Only in partnership with faculty, staff, and students can we begin to fully address this issue.

If you have experienced sexual harassment or violence, including harassment or violence based on your sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, you have the right to report it. Whether you choose to file a formal complaint about what happened, or whether you choose solely to access resources and support measures, such as confidential help, housing support, and academic or workplace assistance, your decisions will be respected.

You can learn more about your options for reporting and Virginia Tech’s policies at www.stopabuse.vt.edu. I also encourage anyone in need of assistance to contact me.

Take good care,
