Dear members of the Virginia Tech community,

As I view news coverage of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, like you, it is difficult for me to comprehend the full scope and impact of this disaster on so many communities. Many students, faculty, and staff have family and friends in the areas that are affected, and the Virginia Tech community is here to support you.

Please reach out to your professors, academic advisor, resident advisor, or Dean of Students Office for support and guidance. Should you need to take time to be with your family back home, we will do our best to accommodate you. The Office of University Scholarships and Financial Aid is available to review your situation and address concerns you might have. We will do what we can to help you during this difficult time. Graduate students may also find additional support via the Ombudsperson in the Graduate School.

I know our community will find ways to participate by providing donations and other means of support to those in need. As relief opportunities become available we will share them on our Hurricane Harvey Relief site and update you through campus notices in the daily email.

Your emotional health is important, too. If you need help, please do not hesitate to use the resources listed below.

The entire Hokie Nation stands with you.

In the spirit of Ut Prosim,
Tim Sands
President
