Angela Mills appointed logistics co-chair for CASE conference
Angela Mills, director of alumni relations for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech, has been selected as logistics co-chair for the 2016 District III annual conference of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
The conference will be Feb. 14-17, 2016, in Nashville, Tennessee. As part of this appointment, Mills also serves as a member of the CASE District III board of directors.
Mills was arrangements chair for the 2015 conference and food and beverage chair for the 2014 conference, both in Orlando, Florida. More than 1,000 education professionals and 50 exhibitors participated on each occasion.
CASE District III appoints four co-chairs to lead more than 40 volunteers for the annual conference. The co-chairs are selected from among the 557 institutions that are part of CASE District III, which also includes 10,700 individual members.
An active presenter and speaker with CASE since 2010, Mills recently represented CASE District III as part of the CASE International District Exchange Program participating in the CASE District VIII Conference in Seattle.
As the director of alumni relations for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, Mills is focused on engaging more than 55,000 alumni, faculty, and students. Previously, she worked as senior director of alumni chapters and outreach at the University of Tennessee Alumni Association and as assistant director of development for the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has also worked with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., focusing on development for the National Symphony Orchestra.
Mills holds a bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College and a master’s in public administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is president-elect of the Mary Washington alumni board and archives chair for the Junior League of Roanoke Valley.
CASE is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and allied areas.
