Amanda Mullins named annual giving officer
Amanda Mullins of Roanoke, Va., has been appointed annual giving officer for Virginia Tech's Office of University Development.
Mullins's primary responsibilities in this position are to build relationships through one-on-one visits with prospects and donors in support of the university’s annual giving program and Virginia Tech's overall fundraising efforts.
"Amanda is a wonderful addition to our team," said Randy Holden, Virginia Tech's director of annual giving. "As an alumna, she has an appreciation for Virginia Tech that will help us develop and strengthen relationships with those who support the university."
Mullins said she is excited for the opportunity to meet with donors who want to see continued improvement and growth at her alma mater.
"Virginia Tech is a very special place to me and so many others," she said, "I’m looking forward to working with those who share my affinity for the university to ensure its legacy."
Mullins formerly served as development and communication associate for the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute, where she helped cultivate relationships with dedicated donors.
Prior to her return to Virginia Tech, Mullins worked at the International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, Tenn., where she served as coordinator of online services and market development. There, she managed the organization’s communications and marketing activities.
Mullins earned her bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech. She went on to earn a master’s degree from Auburn University.
