Pamplin alumna and KPMG recruiter to give Wells Fargo Lecture
Maria V. Anderson, Pamplin College of Business alumna and a recruiter at KPMG, will give the Wells Fargo Distinguished Lecture, sponsored by the Pamplin College, on Thursday, March 7, at 3:30 p.m. at the Holtzman Alumni Center’s Alumni Assembly Hall.
Anderson’s talk is titled “Just Do It.”
Anderson joined KPMG after graduating from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in business information technology in May 2009.
As a federal information technology advisory associate, she worked with various federal government clients, including the defense, commerce, and treasury departments and the Defense Logistics Agency, to analyze the information technology risks and controls.
Anderson became a campus development manager two years later, leading KPMG’s recruiting at Virginia Tech and other universities.
Anderson, who is from Herndon, Va., has volunteered for community service projects, such as the Rock Creek Park clean-up in Washington, D.C., and Junior Achievement in a Day, and is a contributor to KPMG's Family for Literacy project, which partners with First Book to provide new books each year to children in need in KPMG communities and nationwide.
The event is free and open to the public, no tickets needed. Free parking is available at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. Find more parking information online or call 540-231-3200.
