Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention, Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics present exhibit by local artist
Virginia Tech's Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention and the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics in the College of Engineering announce the next installment in an ongoing series of art exhibits to be displayed in the second floor west wing hallway of Norris Hall.
The artist to be featured is Patricia Bevan, a local resident and member of the Blacksburg Regional Art Association. Bevan received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from Virginia Tech. She says her favorite media is dry pastel.
In preparation for this exhibit Bevan stated, “I decided to combine landscape with language to offer a meditation on the beauty and peace that is possible if we connect openheartedly with the resources we have at hand, our beautiful mountains and valley and the voices of those who have sought and are seeking peace.” Bevan has titled this exhibit “Scenes of Beauty, Words of Peace.”
Bevan’s exhibit will run from Jan. 22 through April 30 in the west wing of Norris Hall with a reception on Friday, Jan. 29 from 2-4 p.m. in room 205 Norris Hall on the Virginia Tech campus.
