Barbara Leshyn and her floral design students work together to create the intricate and beautiful flowers for the upcoming April 16 Memorial service. They create 32 "sprays" of flowers for the stones and 3 wreaths. Creating the flower arrangements allows students to feel connected with those impacted by April 16 and provides a sense of community outreach with Virginia Tech's Ut Prosim attitude.

We Remember , articleHokies everywhere will pause today to remember the 32 students and faculty members who were tragically taken from their loved ones and our community on April 16, 2007. Virginia Tech will alter its 2021 Day of Remembrance events to promote physical distancing and discourage large public gatherings. The 3.2-Mile Run in Remembrance will be offered as a virtual event this year. Hokies can run, walk, or jog on their own and post a picture online using #VT32Run. See a full list of events at the We Remember site.
