Nearly 3,200 Hokies were honored for completing their academic degrees.

I extend you a warm welcome to the Fall 2025 commencement exercises in this 154th year of the university. The education that you have received has changed you. It has allowed you to gain knowledge and skills, competencies that will enable you to pursue productive careers. You should have confidence in the education that you have received at Virginia Tech. Respect the accomplishments of those who have forged the way ahead of you, but please don't accept any premise that we cannot benefit from disruptive change, and perhaps change that only you can imagine. As we gather here today, on the verge of what comes next, I'm reminded of the late, great Nikki Giovanni's words, We are better than we think, and not quite what we want to be. growth doesn't stop here we are not yet all we want to be and that's the beauty of it the world waiting beyond this room isn't a finish line it's a blank page so here's to the people we've become and the futures will have been together congratulations class of 2025
