Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine's Otto Lanz receives Faculty Recognition Award
Dr. Otto Lanz, an associate professor of surgery in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences in the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, recently received the Bayer Animal Health Faculty Recognition Award from the Class of 2008 during the college's 24th annual awards program.
The award is presented by the fourth year class to a faculty member participating in the third-year instructional program in recognition of faculty commitment to teaching and the impact good teachers have on the career of the veterinarians they train.
Lanz received his D.V.M. in 1992 from Auburn University. Prior to joining Virginia Tech in 1998 as an assistant professor, he was a resident in small animal surgery at the University of Florida. He has also been in private practice. Dr. Lanz is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
