Kenneth Feinberg to hold additional town hall meetings regarding distribution of Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund
Kenneth Feinberg, appointed by Virginia Tech President Charles Steger to administer the distribution of the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, will hold two town hall meetings later this week.
The meetings are open to all interested in discussing the proposed protocol of the Virginia Tech Victims’ Assistance Program.
A town hall meeting will be held Friday, July 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center , Room 221, 7054 Haycock Road, Falls Church, Va.
The next will be held Monday, July 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Room, second floor, Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard, 1 West Lafayette Street, Trenton, NJ. Driving directions are available online.
The next town hall meeting will be held Friday, August 3 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, Smithfield Room, 901 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg.

July 17, 2007--Kenneth Feinberg, appointed by Virginia Tech President Charles Steger to administer the distribution of the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, will hold two town hall meetings later this week.
The meetings are open to all interested in discussing the proposed protocol of the Virginia Tech Victims’ Assistance Program.
The first town hall meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 18 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the law office of the Feinberg Group, located at 1455 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 390, in Washington D.C.
The second will be held on Friday, July 20, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Virginia Tech Richmond Center. Directions are available at the center’s website.
Feinberg, who served as "Special Master of the federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001," was appointed by Steger to administer distributions of the university’s Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund July 6. Feinberg, who is working pro bono for the university, is an attorney and one of the nation’s leading experts in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. While in his role as “special master” of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, he developed and promulgated regulations and administered distributions of federal monies to families of the deceased and injured in the terrorist attacks on New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Penn.
The Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund will be closed for future donations August 1. Pledges received during August will be counted toward payout figures. Any monies given after the closing date will be directed to the Hokie Spirit Scholarship Fund, a general scholarship fund for Virginia Tech students and could be used for others involved in the tragedy.
