Louie Cooper, an 8-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, was enrolled in a study through the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine about mitral valve disease, a disease that commonly affects the breed. During his routine checkup, doctors found his heart rate to be incredibly slow due to an AV block in his heart. After this diagnosis, the Coopers were told Louie would need a pacemaker. After the pacemaker surgery, Louie is back to his playful self thanks to the cardiology team at the VTH!
Louis will would be 8-years-old in September. And L A Cavaliers, he's very loyal. He loves loves being with Bonnie and me.
