Let's pawty! Virginia Tech celebrates therapy dog's birthday

Happy birthday. Well, we're celebrating therapy dog Epcot's third birthday here. He's been at Virginia Tech a little over a year and it's become a tradition that the library Newman library staff host the dogs. Birthday parties. I think, you know, for this age group, birthdays are really important and of course, we're celebrating third birthday de facto 21 human years. So we're also focusing on that coming of age, Ct. Is very outgoing, he's very friendly, he loves people, he loves other animals. He's like we joke, I don't know if he's ever had a bad day. He's pretty comfortable here. Et started mid February of 2023. So he's been here just over a year and I think he's adjusting great. He's turned out to be all the dog, a therapy dog we had hoped for. So he's been an amazing addition to the team.

Virginia Tech's therapy dog Epcot celebrated his 3rd birthday on March 22, 2024 at a party hosted by University Libraries. Alongside handler Trent Davis, Epcot has provided comfort to students since joining Virginia Tech's Animal Assisted Therapy program in 2023. Students can visit Epcot during his "office hours" on Thursdays from 4-5pm on the 1st floor of Squires Student Center.
