Founded nearly a half century ago, the Virginia Tech Center for power electronic systems is among the largest and most distinguished academic research centers world. Nearly 100 faculty students, visiting scholars, and staff work hard to fulfill the CPAs mission every day. From battery-operated portable electronics to vehicles, to regional, national, and global electrical energy transmission systems. Cps is developing clean, sustainable energy solutions for the 21st century. Interdisciplinary teams along with partners that scan the world, deliver advances in research through continuous engineering prototyping to full-scale experimental validation in world-class facilities. Cps is one of a kind industry partnership program, engages much of the global power electronics industry in print and competitive research, delivering new sources of innovation and developing our next generation of technologists. We assure affordable, safe, and comfortable living environments for future generations. Complementing C has its capabilities. Researchers in the power and energy center offer unique testbed technologies to design, improve, and protect the world's power grids and Whitman distribution and storage to make the grid safer. And we're setting our own ambitious goals. Thanks to the center Smart-Grid Technology, Virginia Tech set a goal to achieve 100% electricity by 2030. And motivated by the limitations of existing techniques, hunger for data and worries over vulnerabilities of cyber attacks. Faculty and students have the power and energy center strive to re-imagine the fundamental design of machine learning and develop trustworthy AI solutions for real-world challenges. To imagine the future Internet of energy, Virginia Tech houses a unique, realistic test bed that allow simultaneous evaluation of five G communication networks in a power system operational environment.
