Luiz A. DaSilva, the inaugural executive director for the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI), will lead a network of higher education and industry experts to build an ecosystem of cyber-related research, education, and engagement. CCI will position Virginia as a world leader in cybersecurity and cyber-physical systems.

[00:00:00] >> The same way that cell phones have changed our lives I think we'll see the same thing happening in the next 10 years where we're going to co-exist with robots and with UAV's, drones ground vehicles that are autonomous self driving cars smart traffic infrastructure Smart homes, there are security vulnerabilities that come with each of these areas and if we do our job right we're going to be addressing these vulnerabilities and will enable this new generation of technology to be deployed safely this is the 1st time I've seen a huge investment from the state from Virginia into a topic that's going to be one of the most important things coming up, so this intersection between autonomous systems, security and artificial intelligence. [00:00:50] So the opportunity was so timely and so Different that really pulled me back to Virginia.
