Given their ability to carry and spread disease to humans, mosquitoes cause millions of deaths every year. Clément Vinauger, assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry, and Gretchen Pickerel, class of 2020, are among those at Virginia Tech studying the fine-scale mechanisms, that they might leverage those mechanisms to help prevent mosquitoes from finding and biting people.
