I've heard wonderful things it's now time to experience those things and and to come to understand them firsthand from the perspective of our medical students the perspectives of our faculty. What an amazing set of partners that Virginia Tech William has from Virginia Tech as an outstanding research oriented land grant university with a mission of service as well as Karelian clinic which has made an enormous impact to improve the health of the local community and is really a juggernaut in value based health care with a national reputation putting the 2 together to create a private public partnership for a medical school is sort of a dream come true the fact that the medical students are exposed very early to clinical medicine develop the understanding of the patient's experience and develop a great sense of compassion for their patients through the curriculum as well as the research intensive curriculum that allows them to produce and understand how new knowledge is generated so they can go on to be future physicians leaders the idea of being a dean means to not only graduate students who are highly compassionate and scientifically minded who are able to make a mazing contributions in their careers but who will also go forth to be leaders in the future of health care I have expectations that a medical school like Virginia Tech are really
