Pedestrian impacts: Steam tunnel improvements to occur near Alumni Mall Road, Stanger Street

To accommodate improvements to the steam tunnel system on Virginia Tech's Blacksburg campus, the pathway adjacent to the small bush in the shape of the university's logo near Torgersen Hall bridge (at the corner of Alumni Mall Road and Stanger Street) will be temporarily closed from approximately Monday, May 19 - Monday, July 14. 

During this time, alternative pedestrian routes will be available along the crosswalks connecting Torgersen Hall and Newman Library via Stanger Street to War Memorial Chapel. 

Pedestrians are encouraged to exercise caution and follow posted directional signage. Pedestrians may also use the Interactive Campus Map to assist with navigation.
