Save the date: The Influencing Change and Solving Wicked Problems Conference, May 8
Submit proposals for conference sessions by March 25
From: Human Resources
The annual Professional Development Community of Practice “Influencing Change and Solving Wicked Problems” (or Wicked Con) professional development conference is scheduled for 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., on May 8 at the North End Center in Blacksburg.
Wicked Con will offer in-person and virtual options and is open to all Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and graduate students, especially those whose work encompasses the professional and leadership development of employees. More information, including conference registration is coming soon! For questions, please reach out to Michelle Carter at mdcarter1@vt.edu.
Additionally, the Community of Practice is looking for presenters to share tools, resources, and strategies in an engaging presentation or workshop during the 45-minute sessions. The sessions can be in-person, pre-recorded, or virtual.
There are a variety of themes to guide these sessions:
- Leveraging Technology and Data
- Learning and Engagement Strategies
- Leadership and Driving Change
- Accessibility and Design Solutions
This is an excellent opportunity to share insights with fellow Virginia Tech employees, network with like-minded professionals, and gain exposure to presenters’ work. We encourage you to submit a proposal for one or more sessions that address our themes. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on March 25 and acceptance notifications will be communicated on April 4. Conference registration opens April 11. The committee has provided a conference proposal guide with examples.
For more information and to submit your proposals, visit the Wicked Con conference page, which will be updated regularly over the coming weeks.
