Exhibitors wanted: Hokie for a Day field trips

From: Center for Educational Networks and Impact

CENI invites Virginia Tech faculty, students, and student organizations to share an engaging tabletop experience with fifth graders at a Hokie for a Day Expo on a Wednesday this spring. The CENI team will take care of the logistics for the kids - technology, tables, chairs, buses, food, youth protection, chaperone communications, and image permissions - so you can focus on the Virginia Tech work you will share.

Hokie for a Day offers 60 or so fifth graders from a local Title 1 school a unique opportunity to experience college life. In addition to the academic expo, the visit includes a discussion of college majors, a conversation about how to get to college, lunch at an on-campus dining hall, and a chat with a student athlete.

When? Choose a Wednesday between February 18 and April 9 (except 2/19, 3/5, and 3/12). Students arrive at the expo at 10:45 and leave at 11:45. Plan to be present from 10 to 12.

Who? Virginia Tech faculty, students, and student organizations who wish to share an engaging experience related to a major, department, or project

Where? Moss Arts Center, Balcony Lobby - third floor, facing Alumni Mall

What? Hokie for a Day Expo. You are invited to host one of five or six tables at the expo. Small groups will rotate through the tables in 6-minute timeslots, and then have the remaining time for free choice and question period for follow up. When the experience ends, your commitment is complete.

How? For more information and to submit the exhibit form, add an exhibit. Please submit by Feb. 15. The application stays open until all slots are filled.
