Opportunity for children ages 4-6 to participate in 'Talemate' reading study
From: Human Development and Family Science
Researchers are looking for children aged between 4 to 6 years and their parents who speak English to participate in a Virginia Tech research study (IRB# 23-748), titled “TaleMate: A Reading Platform for Parents and Children.” The purpose of this study is to evaluate a platform called “TaleMate,” designed by our team, to enhance the joint reading of eBooks by using AI.
Study participation involves a 75-minute visit to our lab on the Blacksburg campus of Virginia Tech. During your lab visit, you and your child will read two storybooks using the TaleMate platform and answer questions. Families will be compensated with a $20 USD Amazon gift card for their time upon completion of the visit. The session will be audio/video recorded for research purposes.
The lab is located in Room 400 of Wallace Hall at 295 West Campus Drive in Blacksburg. Free parking is available for your lab visit.
Our project depends on parents’ help and involvement. If you and your child would like to be involved, please complete our interest form using the following link:https://virginiatech.questionpro.com/t/AVJAmZ2uxA
Please see the flier below for more details if you are interested in more information about participating. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the lead researcher, Koeun Choi, via email at codeslab@vt.edu or by phone at 540-231-2015.
