Veterans panel discussion focuses on transition into civilian workforce

The Office for Equity and Accessibility Affirmative Action team invites the Virginia Tech community to attend an online panel discussion by Zoom on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. The theme of the discussion will be helping veterans successfully transition into the civilian workforce.
Anita Jenious, Virginia Tech’s director of affirmative action, will start the discussion and introduce the panel of distinguished speakers. Jasmine Tucker, senior affirmative action specialist at Virginia Tech and retired Army first sergeant who served multiple deployments in Iraq, will moderate. The panel includes:
- Keneidra Hargrove, co-founder of Innovative Directions Investments Group, a consultancy firm that assists businesses to posture for enhanced employee and managerial growth and increase investment in human capital. Hargrove served in the military for more than 20 years and is a retired Army first sergeant.
- Chris Kiwus, vice president for Campus Planning, Infrastructure, and Facilities at Virginia Tech, and retired member of the Navy.
- Enrique Noyola, recruiter for Virginia Tech who served eight years as an infantryman in the Army.
- Elizabeth Siplin, author, community activist, founder of Empact Solutions, a certified service-disabled veteran, HUBzone, DCE/ACDBE, minority owned business that provides world-class professional management and security management solutions, and retired Army command sergeant major.
