This is an opportunity for the students to gain client experience while giving back to the community.

Every semester, students from the College of Architecture, Arts, and Design come together as a “collective studio” to produce a print design journal. The publication displays student work, shares alumni experiences, and highlights current interests within the design community and the students’ own studios. This fall, students chose to focus the publication on one question: “What else can I do with my degree?” and interviewed alumni with architecture degrees who followed unique career paths. Seeing all of the different avenues these alumni have been able to take and what they have achieved opens new possibilities for students in architecture and beyond.

Virginia Tech is home to one of the largest Swiss poster collections in the United States, with the age of the posters ranging from the 1960s to the 2010s. The posters were donated by designers Dennis Ichiyama and Oscar Fernandez in 2023 with the goal of them becoming a teaching tool for young designers. In March of 2024, some of those posters were on display at the Armory Gallary in the School of Visual Arts in an exhibit titled, "Collections and Connections: Excerpts from the Swiss Poster Collection at Virginia Tech".

The University Libraries’ exhibit Stories Not Symptoms: An Exhibition of Graphic Medicine, located on the fourth floor of Newman Library, highlights the combination of the bright and whimsical nature of comic books with the medical jargon of disease and illness to tell the health stories of individuals. Through the abstract art, comics add approachability and emotion to the stories and clinical data. The exhibit features work by multiple graphic medicine artists and an interactive opportunity for visitors to create their own graphic medicine.
