Video: Virginia Tech students hope parking app will net $25,000 prize
Tomorrow, a trio of Virginia Tech students will show off an app designed to lead drivers to open spaces in crowded parking lots.
Having won an entrepreneurship challenge at Virginia Tech recently, they hope their idea will rise to the top of this week's Global Partnership competition. This is the fifth event sponsored by VT KnowledgeWorks and includes 27 families who will host international students arriving in Blacksburg and Roanoke.
More than a dozen host companies are involved as well, along with 19 event sponsors. Last year's winning team came from France.
This two-minute YouTube video gives a closer look at the parking app designed by Paul Feagan of Hampton, Virginia, a senior majoring in accounting and information systems in the Pamplin College of Business; and Jeff Morris of Berwyn, Pennsylvania, and Joe Acanfora of Gilbertsville, New York, both seniors in computer science in the College of Engineering.
