Video: Student entrepreneurs show how to 'invent the future'

A free parking space whenever you need it, a toy that can be fashioned into infinite shapes, and a quick way to test for cholera in drinking water – these are three ideas that Virginia Tech student teams recently came up with for a VT KnowledgeWorks-sponsored entrepreneurship challenge. The students vied for a $10,000 grand prize.

Paul Feagan of Hampton, Va., a senior majoring in accounting and information systems in the Pamplin College of Business, talks about his team’s winning idea, which aims to take the stress out of finding a parking space. 

Two Ph.D. students share their teams' inventions as well: Siddhartha Roy of Delhi, India, a student in the civil and environmental engineering program in the College of Engineering, and Alireza Borhani of Shiraz, Iran, a student in the architecture and design research program in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
