Richard K. McCoy named director of parking and transportation
Richard K. McCoy has been named director of parking and transportation for the Division of Administrative Services.
In this role, McCoy will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Office of Parking and Transportation including Parking Services, Fleet Services, and Alternative Transportation. He will also be responsible for administering and directing university-wide commuter, parking, and transit/transportation functions as well as management of the university’s fleet program.
“Ricky brings extensive experience to the Office of Parking and Transportation,” said Lisa Wilkes, assistant vice president for Business Services. “His knowledge and background will complement our goals to further expand and solidify our services to the campus community,” said Wilkes.
McCoy, employed for 32 years at Virginia Tech, brings more than 16 years of parking and transportation management experience to his new role. Prior to his position as interim director of parking and transportation, McCoy served as associate director for the Office of Parking and Transportation.
McCoy received Virginia Tech’s Innovative Solutions Initiative award in February 2007.
