Summer camp launches rockets, future arts, and sciences careers on Virginia Tech Drillfield
A group of young campers will spend a week of their summer vacation studying vectors, robotics, and other advanced subjects at the All-Arts, Sciences & Technology Camp hosted on the Virginia Tech campus July 31-Aug. 5.
Sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Division of Continual Learning, the camp offers courses such as cartoon illustration, LEGO robotics, and Internet multimedia to campers ages 7-15 staying in the Virginia Tech residence halls. One of the classes will launch model rockets that campers constructed themselves from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 1-4 on the Drillfield.
The camp offers hands-on instruction designed to motivate students to explore art, science, and technology and pursue further education in these fields. In addition, campers get the chance to experience life on a college campus, as well as participate in recreational and entertainment activities that encourage them to have fun and think critically.
All-Arts, Sciences & Technology Camp is just one of the many educational and engaging camps and conferences hosted on the Virginia Tech campus during the summer months. For more information about visiting groups and the services offered on campus, visit the Conference and Guest Services website.
