Business information technology majors in the Pamplin College of Business will display their senior projects on Tuesday, April 26, from noon to 2 p.m., in the Pamplin atrium.

Billed as “[Business Information Technology] Senior Project Showcase Day,” the event will feature 40 individual and nine team Web development projects by students in the Business Analysis Seminar in [Information Technology] class taught by business information technology assistant professor Alan Abrahams this spring.

“All are welcome to stop by, meet our students, and learn about the Web software they worked on this semester,” said Abrahams. Projects on display will include websites his students built for General Electric, which is also sponsoring the event, and local businesses Rolling Fork Farm and Wild Hill Burial Boxes.

Abrahams also invites corporations or small businesses interested in submitting Web development projects for consideration as future class assignments to contact him via email or at (540) 231-5887.

“We’re proud to sponsor the showcase,” said Vishnu Thyagarajan,
information technology program manager
of capital markets and corporate insurance at GE. “GE has a long-standing relationship with the business information technology department,” he said, “and this event provides a great opportunity to showcase the technical and creative solutions of upcoming Virginia Tech graduates and future information technology leaders.”
