Virginia Tech Recreational Sports, along with sponsors Sayre Promotional Products and real estate agent John Wilburn, will host the 10th Annual Bench Press Competition on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. The competition will include Men’s Open, Men’s Raw, and Ladies’ Open divisions. The event will be held in War Memorial Hall on the Virginia Tech campus and will give area competitors and amateurs a chance to demonstrate their power.

The competition is open to the Virginia Tech community and the general public. Early online registration is available now. Fees are $15 for Virginia Tech students, $20 for Virginia Tech faculty and staff, and $25 for all other participants. There is an additional $10 fee to register for multiple divisions. All participants will receive a free event T-shirt and gift bag. Cash prizes of $50 each will be awarded to the first-place winners for the Men’s Overall Open, Men’s Overall Raw, and Women’s Overall divisions. Weigh-in will take place Friday from 4- 7 p.m. and Saturday, the day of the event, from 7- 8 a.m. All weigh-ins will be held in War Memorial Hall room 124. A rules briefing for all competitors will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m. before the meet. Awards will be presented for each division’s first- through third-place winners from each weight class. Early training is recommended for any competitor.
