Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets alumna 1st Lt. Casey Middleton Dalton, who received a degree in political science from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences in 2007, has been selected as a Hokie Hero.

Dalton is currently stationed in Basra, Iraq, as a member of the 21st Military Police Company, Airborne, United States Army. Casey is from Tampa, Fla., and this is her first combat deployment.
During her senior year in the corps, Dalton was the 2nd Battalion Commander, charged with leading over 250 cadets on a day-to-day basis. In addition, she was a member of the Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Team and the Army 10-Miler Team. Casey is married to Navy Ensign Rob Dalton, who was the regimental commander during his senior year and is now stationed at Pensacola Naval Air Station where he is training to be a helicopter pilot. The Daltons are both 2007 graduates of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, a department within the Division of Student Affairs.
