Industrial and systems engineering celebrates distinguished alumni and students

The Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) celebrated its annual banquet where departmental faculty, staff, students, and alumni gathered to celebrate the year’s accomplishments, including recognizing outstanding alumni receiving honors and awards:
- Induction into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni
- Early Career Impact Award
- Emerging Leaders Award
“It’s always an honor to celebrate our alumni whose work continues to shape the future of industrial and systems engineering,” said department head Eileen Van Aken. “This year’s honorees have made a lasting impact — whether through innovation, leadership or service — and they exemplify the strength and spirit of our ISE community.”

2025 Class of Academy of Distinguished Alumni
The ISE Academy of Distinguished Alumni was established in 1993 by the advisory board and senior faculty of the department and recognizes the contributions of exemplary alumni to the profession and society. Candidates can be nominated by anyone, and inductees are carefully selected by a committee composed of members of the ISE advisory board, academy members, and faculty.
2025 inductees, the academy's 20th cohort, were selected based on their career accomplishments, professional contributions and honors, service to the profession of industrial engineering, service to their community, and involvement and service to Virginia Tech.
